Everyone thinks Lincolnshire is flat, mostly it is, but Lincoln itself is in a bowl, with a geographical ridge running either side. I am stood on one side of the ridge & the cathedral is stood on the other.
We were actually visiting the new Bomber Command memorial, which had an open day today, but this view is too spectacular to miss ! On the left at the top can also be seen the castle & a Victorian water tower, which was built to bring a fresh water supply to the city which, at the time was beseiged by typhoid.
