If you ever see a video/film of the Red Arrows flying,
"Red One" which is the guy in the plane at the point of the arrow" here & he is also the OC (officer commanding, or in todays civilian language, the line manager, talks through the whole display on his radio. One of the commands is "smoke on" & I think you can see, all those that are meant to, have switched their smoke on! Red, white & blue smoke is their trade mark.
You are lucky to be able to watch them any time you like. They are beautiful and the pilots are very well trained. I missed them the last time they came to give a show in Malta last year. This is a gorgeous capture of them all together letting out the smoke in different colours all together.
@sangwann Actually Dione, seeing them can be a bit "hit & miss", This is them practicing, its their job & not a public display as such. They never advertise when they are going to be flying, so it's just a case of heading up to the base & seeing what's gong on. That said, we tend to know when when they are abroad, from a local facebook group. We are lucky to have them in the area though & its such a great experience to photograph them.
