Out in my own back yard today. No signs of Mason yet, guess he isn't as ready as his mother is, but I am keeping my schedule open. When I think of all the butterflies I have been chasing lately I am amazed at what I found this morning perched on the Lamb's Ear. Look how well this creature blends with his background to keep him safe. Glad he seemed to realize the only capturing I wanted to do was with a camera.
It is a sad day here today. My neighbors of the last five years are moving to a larger home. They bought this right before their marriage and we have enjoyed them so much. Joseph came along a couple of years ago and he is such a joy. Comes to the fence to talk to Mr. Tom and Miss Cathy. He is going to be joined by twins in August so they needed a larger home. Promising to stay in touch we walked up to the local Whippy Dip last night for a good bye ice cream with them, their parents and another family from our block.
this is a great shot Cathy! i like the pov you used to catch the butterfly......head on, so we get a good look at his eyes and antennae. nicely composed too!
As the butterfly flutters by, and so is life.... can't remember where I orginally heard this, but it sticks with me as a reminder about the transient nature of life. Having great neighbours is a wonderful thing lets hope your neighbourly outlook will rub off on them :)
