From Seed

Thanks to all of you for putting my swan on the PP. I am thrilled and I bet he will be also when I tell him on my next visit. I am so very thankful for this supportive community.

I did seven in a row without a flower shot but am feeling the slipping away of the garden tugging at me. It won't be long at all until I will be wishing them back. When winter arrives I will be missing these beauties so badly and trying to find the kind of pops of color that only a flower can provide in my life.

This is another of my finds at the park last year. I brought the seeds home and kept them on the basement window sill all winter and planted them in the spring. This is the tiniest little flower - smaller than a dime but it grows like crazy. I have no clue what they are but they look like brushes.
I would love to see you conveying the message to the swan... On the other hand, this is a beautiful flower. From seed? Great job.

Very pretty! The color reminds me of an Indian Paintbrush, but I think they're bigger than what you've described. Nice shot. And congratulations on the PP!

@anazad511 I talked to him quite a bit the last time. I talk to my dogs all day long and somehow that just carries over. Who else is going to listen to endlessly?
@judithg I am still surprised it worked!
@yonnie I might go back early this evening with some bread depending on the weather. He deserves it.
@happypat Thanks Pat. That is exactly what I was going for.
@doorknee71 Thanks Dawn. I love the color of this one.
@fannyb I wish I knew. Can't very well brag that I grew it when I don't even know the name of it. You mean you don't talk to swans?
@lwain It really is cool. I have two of them that I did this with and am especially proud of them.
@redrucksack I had a friend that was a florist help me figure out what part of the plant to bring home.
@janets Thanks Janet. One of my favorite colors.
@henrir And it really is so tiny. The power of a macro lens.
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann I'll look up Indian Paintbrush.
@wannabe Thanks Catherine. I'm pretty proud of the swan.
@marieooi Thank you Marie.
@carolmw Thanks Carol.
