Tom and I went to Coney Island last night to the International Fireworks Competition. It was a huge crowd. We waited in traffic almost 20 minutes just to turn into the parking lot. We found a spot and my magic husband waited until they shut the gate to leave and pulled up into the line of exiting traffic and we got a prime spot on the lake. We saw displays from the USA, Mexico and Canada - Canada was the hands down winner. Cincinnati's own Rozzi family put on the finale. There was so much going on they had to wait about then minutes between countries to allow all this smoke to dissipate. Since our car was right there we kept getting in to warm up between shots. It was a wonderful evening and since we were already in the exit lane we got right out.
@tishpics It was really good. @judithg He's very proud of himself. @sarra I love them, too. @maggiemae I took so many. I have a difficult time with the timing. @gerry Thanks, Gerry. @allie912 He really is. @filsie65 I love that feel. @anazad511 We have one also. Up the river from downtown Cincinnati. They used to be able to take a paddlewheel out to the "country."
My wife and I used to shoot fireworks for Pyrotecnico one of the two fireworks companies in New Castle, PA the Fireworks Capital of America. Every year they hold the Fireworks Festival in New Castle the first or second Saturday after the 4th of July, depending on when the 4th hits in the week. The two companies takes turns putting on the display, one year Pyrotecnic and the other Zamebelli Internationale.
Cathy - I have had to take the 'jump leads' off because, you quite rightly, suspected they were not jump leads!! And they weren't - it was a battery charger!! Thank you for saving my bacon before the men had a go!!! We do have jump leads somewhere so now I am off to find them!
