This is sort of a throw away shot because I had way too much fun today. Sorry for no comments. By the time we went to get the shot the temperature had dropped considerably with a pretty good wind chill. I had to take one fast and not what I wanted. I should have walked it for the best angle but I was freezing. This is such a crazy, cool building.
We went to one of our premier art shows, Winterfair, and walked around all afternoon enjoying things that are way out of my price range. I loved the photography (but would say as we walked away "I can do that.". I know that you all know how good that feels). I was admiring a guy's waterfall photography and he told us where he got the shots and everything. When it came to the sales pitch Tom just told the guy that his wife could do that. I did buy a gorgeous silver ring that I had wanted that will fit around old knuckles. I imagine I will take a shot of it one of these winter days.
Then we did Black Friday at the camera store (this evening - the crowd was long gone). I got a really light weight carbon fiber tripod for our upcoming trip. It came with a free (nothing is free but they can say it) ball head that they had sold out of. The President of the place (Dodd's Camera, new for us here a couple of months ago) came over and said give her this one. It is a Vanguard that retails for $69.99. Then I bought a new camera bag that has lots of little niches in it and doesn't look like a camera bag. Everything fits!
That is a beautiful building - he had a great vision and it's great that they took the trouble to make something that looks so good. Your purchases sound marvellous and I can't wait to see the ring and the waterfall!! =)
Sounds like a wonderful day.......so good when you look at others photos and know you can do it!! I think this is a great shot of an amazing looking building.........
This building looks flat like paper! Very cool! You had a great day...sounds like. And those new ultra lite tripods that flick out in one move because they are made of "tent pole" like construction ...I want one of those! And yay for a new camera bag!
Score on the shopping too!
Congratulations on the new equipment. ENJOY.
