I know that I have shared this before. My goal is to get it in all seasons as it fascinates me. What kind of mind had to build this gorgeous chapel to house his earthly remains? He was a whiskey Baron and his final resting place is now on the National Historic Register. It is intended to resemble a Gothic Revival funerary monument. It has the only two symmetrical buttresses in Cincinnati - for a dead guy.
I am fascinated by this building. It is hard to photograph because of all the shadows - no matter what time of day I see it. I went out today because I figure that if I pretend that it really is Spring maybe I can get Mother Nature on the bandwagon. So far, it is still flurrying.
This is the subject of my 1 September 2012 shot. I like this building very much, it's a shame it appears to be crumbling. My problem with trying to photograph it is there really isn't a good place to stand to get it, it's on that steep hill. I would like to get to Spring Grove and photograph when there is snow on the ground, but have yet to do so.
Incredible... I wonder if he got to enjoy it while he was alive too because I can't imagine it's a lot of fun for him now he's deceased...
Great subject for a shot - tag it with something unique so we can compare the shots through the seasons?
What an amazing building! I'm with you...what kind a personality does that? But it is a very facinating place. Lovely composition! I look forward to seeing it in all seasons!
You got a beautiful photo of it today. Perfect subject for a sort of rainy, cold day. I like others shots that I see in your portfolio, so I am going to follow you and see what more you do.
