Rudy

I'd like you to meet Rudy. I met him this afternoon - close up and personal. Rudy is the pet pig of Gina's friend. We went to a fun craft/flea market thing in Friendship, Indiana. I put my camera in the car because I have not been using it enough! But who knew I would share a picture of a pig. Rudy lives in the house! He uses a litter box, I asked, and right now he is shoveling up cherries. After I took this he came over and licked my leg! I have no idea what Rudy must weigh - he is a porker. I didn't go in the house but Gina said her friend was frying bacon. Now - how can that be??
He is hairy and sort of gritty to pet. Can you tell I am a city girl?
Frying bacon??? Really. I am a city girl, too. I always said I would have loved to have lived during the "Little House on the Prairie" days, but I think I would have survived about 5 minutes.

Great capture, Cathy.

Rudy is a lot of pet! Fun story, I have heard pigs can be good, clean, friendly pets but it wouldn't be for me. And cooking bacon - ooh, isn't that sort of awful when your best friend is a pig?

Not sure I would want a pig for a pet as I like my bacon too much! Nice shot!

Gracious what an unusual pet.. better not let the kids see this...!! Handsome chap though :)

I don't think he would love to smell the bacon, Cathy. He looks very well fed. Too big for a pet, I must say.

Fab shot! I've seen these guys and they act just like dogs - can be trained and even wag their little tails when they're happy. Cute as babies, but sadly, outgrow most city homes.

Wow - Rudy looks very much loved and content.

Cute

@yonnie I would never survive snakes, or the outhouses of my childhood experience with farms. Take me to the city!

@timandelke I can't imagine having that much animal in the house to step on my feet!
June 9th, 2013
@sansjuan he doesn't smell. But I can tell you I would much rather be licked by a dog than a pig!

Great shot Cathy. Of course pork is the staple diet (for meat anyway) here in Thailand. This porker would certainly feed a lot of people!!

What an interesting pet for your friend to have. He's quite large!
