The Waters of Zion by cdonohoue

The Waters of Zion

I totally agree with your prior comments that Zion was our favorite of the three parks that we visited. The term Zion means sanctuary or refuge. When Tom made our reservations months ago he didn't pay any attention to the liturgical calendar. We didn't realize until early March that we would be gone for Palm Sunday and Easter. Zion became my sanctuary. I felt it in the towering walls and in the flowing waters. It was easy and natural to pray there as my "mountain top" moments were around every turn. Tom and I both were very "present" in each moment. I haven't even seen all of the shots that I took. Did I tell you I fell at the Grand Canyon and broke my camera? My incredible husband just calmly took over my phone and found a store and I went up the food chain to a Canon 70 D. He never batted an eye. He knows what my camera means to me and that it is in my hands almost every day - thanks in many parts to all of you. I hope to catch up soon with changing time zones, laundry and all of you.
This is incredible. Peaceful and powerful at once. So sorry to hear that you broke your camera, but what an amazing man you have to replace it so quickly. fav!

Cathy, I've been sitting here going through your vacation pictures and I'm so envious! I went to the Grand Canyon years ago but we only had a limited amount of time so I didn't get to travel around that much. Honestly, so glad you got to go. And, so proud of you for hiking every day. What a trooper! All of your pictures are just phenomenal and sorry you broke your camera, but glad you got a new one. Fav!

This is lovely! I can absolutely see how this place could turn into your sanctuary and illicit praise to the One who made it. I'm also glad to hear all worked out well for your camera situation!
