My baby was 50 yesterday! I didn't get around to posting because I was tired. I was 20 years old when this guy was born. I was scared to death of this little bundle of joy. I didn't know how to change a diaper or give a baby a bath. I learned by on the job training. The first time he slept through the night I ran into his room to see if he was still breathing! I did so many parenting things wrong and I must have done a few right. Today he is a son, husband, step father and grandfather. He is also an architect with a pretty great job. I so love my little red headed boy and the man that he has become. Michael David Braden - the man who made me a mother.
I think even women who are familiar with babies (I'd done some baby sitting in my day) are overwhelmed by that first child in many ways. There were some things I was confident that I could do- like change a diaper- but other things that I was glad my mother was around so I could ask her what I should do. I wasn't much older than you at 22! My "baby" just turned 43. Where does the time go??? Good shot!
