Maybe this will make some of you do a double take. Meet my Aunt Pudge - the one wearing the hat! Doesn't look it, does she? Apparently, when Imogene was a little girl, her brothers thought she was pudgy. If my name was Imogene I would have gone by Pudge, also. Pudge met and married my Uncle Wilbur. They met after the war and my rebel Uncle Will, who used to sleep in the room that is now my closet, library and room for what I like but don't know what to do with, fell in love with her. This is her dress maker's dummy that was up in the attic. I loved my Aunt. She had a convertible in the 50's and used to take me for rides. Will and Pudge moved to Wisconsin and bought a bar when I was about 12. We vacationed there every year and as we got older we got to load beer bottles out of the shoot into cases for pop and free games of pool. They were the "fun" Aunt and Uncle. She died of cirrhosis when I was in my early 20's.
When we moved back here I found Pudge in the attic and knew I had to bring her downstairs. So, I cleaned her up and put her in the room that my Uncle had when I was a baby. The house that Tom and I have filled with stuff used to house my Grandmother, my Uncle Will, my parents and me.
@shannew I have a million of them. @cromwell Believe me I wish I looked like Pudge. @photos222 Another of the many things that I can't get rid of. @henrir Sometimes I put other things on her but she always has a hat as she lacks a head..... @sugarmuser Thanks Sharon. Nice to share he with folks. @girlie Me too, Robin. She was never Pudgy - chestier than this shows. @maggiemae That is just it Maggie - I have too many things. @yonnie She was a great Aunt.
