Kildale to Commondale

Along the moorland roads the bracken is tall and green the sheep and lambs browse the grass verges and the heather is just starting to show colour. We visit often to make sure we miss none of the colour and life that has such a short duration on the moor top at this time of year.

I like how the sheep just meander along the road. We panic to see livestock in the road, but of course seems we drive faster on our roads.

Beautiful capture of the country. Around here they have started bringing the goats to “mow” the tall dry grass in the open spaces.

The sheep are fairly road savvy even the lambs take care when crossing. You get the odd exception but I don’t think the farmers loose many and they enjoy the free feed!
