Another birthday in the books (56!), and I cooked my dinner tonight for my husband and me: grilled steak, sauteed mushrooms, roasted Brussel sprouts, and Panzanella salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. Yum! He wanted to order out, but I wanted to cook, so he agreed to let me order "anything I want" in the coming days.
He also gave me a membership to "Gibbs Gardens," which is 40 minutes north of us (hoping to get some nice nature photos there!), an instant fire log that smells like Kentucky Fried Chicken (yes, I mean, wut?), and a Toto toilet bidet. Basically, I am laughing too much to appreciate the gifts--except the garden ones.
I got my 3.1 miles in in the rain today. But I had some nice conversations with friends who called, and I was super excited that a friend dropped off a gift of a book by David Sedaris. If you are not familiar with his essays, now is the time to order his work.
A good day in all. Now, if I can just figure out how to work my fancy toilet seat. LOL.
@newbank heated is nice!! Haha. This loo seat is quite a great thing! It's made by Toto. I've only seen/experienced one in Tokyo before. All I can say is it's a good thing! Lol!
Congratulations, Daryl! ππΆπ I think with all your useful gifts π you'll have a 'natural, clean and an atmospherical fire scene' year ahead! π
