Wright Hunter, Medals of Wright Hunter and John Heard Hunter (son of Wright)

On the left is my grandfather's father I believe--Wright Hunter. He had Harold O'Driscoll, John Heard, my grandfather (Francis Cornelius), and the youngest Edith O'Driscoll as children. Wright married Edith O'Driscoll, and Wright's brother also married Edith's sister (Aya O'Driscoll), so I get it mixed up all the time with two Hunter brothers marrying two O'Driscoll sisters. The third O'Driscoll sister was named Belle O'Driscoll and she married a man with the last name Cohen; their daughter Belle (there are many Belle's) was a very close cousin to my grandparents, and she lived on Hilton Head Island too! Belle always gave me the O'Driscoll family info and her daughter Belle (who goes by Polly--my mother's generation) has a daughter Belle and they all live in England! And the latest Belle just had a daughter this year. I love my O'Driscoll cousins and can't wait to share all that info. With all these brothers and sisters marrying same families, I also get it mixed up because there are names like Monk, Nonnie, Spots, Dede, etc. that are NOT the proper names, so when speaking to my mom, she uses the nicknames and I get all confused again (sorry mom, you might be reading this!).

Anyway, Wright is on the left and his medals he's wearing are on the right with the addition of his son's sharpshooter medals given as a gift to my grandfather from his brother! Whoa, that still has to sit in my head!

Here is what is written on the back of the framed medals display! https://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2021-03-05

Oh, and I have a new research assistant! She's a Jack Russell Rat Terrier mix, 10 years old, diabetic, practically blind, and she's ours to foster until we can find her a loving forever home! She's super sweet! Check her out here: https://365project.org/darylo/album4/2021-03-05

Hot dogs! If you have trouble keeping them straight just imagine how complicated it is for me. That being said it’s marvelous that you have photos and memorabilia from your family! I know the people who receive this information from you will be so grateful that you have cataloged it all

This is so interesting, Daryl. My great grandad married one Sangster sister, who died young after having two children with him; he then married her sister and had another five children with her. That would be most unusual in today's world, but I guess it wasn't an uncommon occurrence then.
