I pass this little barn regularly, and today the sun was casting a shadow on the end of the building. It caught my eye. A shadow is a reflected image. Our children often reflect what they see and hear in us. As Parents, what will others see in our children? What do others see in us? Are we providing them with a positive image? Understandably, our children may go in all together different directions than you or would have gone, but underneath it all, our life, our example will provide the basis on which they build their lives, and their values. Are we living true to what we preach? Does our life reflect the values that we say we believe in, or are we living a double standard?
This is pretty amazing...the shadow of thew tree on the barn is much better than just a photo of the barn with the tree near it...and of course I love how you "segwayed" into our children being a reflection of us. Nice.
Such wise words. I had just this discussion with my son tonight as he strives to make good decisions as a single father. Your picture is beautiful; the weathered wood and the graceful tree make a lovely composition.
Must be the day for the tree pics Rick. And too true what you say about our kids - life's lessons are caught more than they are taught!
Love that there is roof missing from the barn
I actually think about that quite a bit--and consequently, am very careful about what I say in front of my children! This photo is awesome--I love the shadow of the tree--it almost looks like animation
beautiful words and picture...know what? when I was focused on the reading I had to taking my eyes off the words and dart to the barn where the shadow is...was it moving? hmmm...did that more that a few times too...specially in the bottom left side where the white is more predominate.
what a wonderful shot. And I'm hearing the echo of how we live our lives in Mr 2 and a bit at the moment.... too many words sometimes, other times the words make my heart swell. Time to put the computer away and spend some time with a most important little man!
