I thought this would be a fitting photo for this week's theme in several respects. First of all, in spite of its age, probably 60 years old, maybe more, the shade still has its "vivid" colors. This was another one of my Grandmother's possessions that I was fortunate enough to acquire. It doesn't have a great deal of monetary value, but it does have sentimental value, and that brings me to the second reason why I think it is fitting for the week's theme. It carries with it some "vivid" memories of my childhood visits to Grandma and Grandpa's house. This is the light they would always have on inb the living room during the evening hours.
I love all the neat things that you have shown us that has memories behind it. I love something that tells a story. Great warm light coming from this one!
O, this is lovely Rick ... both the lamp as well as the memories associated with it. I really like the way the flowers look as if they're painted on the lamp shade ... as if so much care has gone into the making of this (clearly, care has gone into the preserving of this too). A really lovely 'vivid' shot on both counts!
Btw, I got a little giggle out of you saying the warthogs might just be hiding their worries...some "people" are good at that!
And I love sharing your treasures via your photos , Thanks.. it brings back memories of my grandparents and the comfort found there.
