A lot of my favourite shots have been ones in which I pointed my camera directly at the sun, normally either at dawn or dusk. They are definitely challenging. You have to accept a certain amount of the photo will be blown out as well as the associated flare but done right, I think they can make for something special. Here are some of mine. I'm curious to see what other people have done and hopefully get a few new ideas....

Great thread and some amazing shots! I've really loved shooting into the sun recently, especially as we approach winter here in Australia and I am appreciating every bit of sunshine we get!

Okay, I'll try this again. I think I have the picture copied now. This is my first attempt to take a photo directly into the sun. I thought it turned out pretty interesting.

Directly into the sun at sunset, but hazy and subdued because of the desert sand in the air, I think!
Foggy sunrises can be quite beautiful too ;-)

This is a shot of the sun, but it was during the eclipse and done through the smoke of the wild fires.
