I am staying in Queenstown for one night before heading up to Mount Cook for the weekend - this I am very excited about as it is a long time since I was there. My daughter is joining us and flew from Auckland to Queenstown. I took this photo on my way to the airport when picking her up. Lake Wakatipu was looking quite stunning - This is taken from the north side of the lake where there is a large grass park in the foreground.
What a beautiful, calm image. Quite the opposite of my one and only visit to Queenstown in 1993, when we did the one-day triple challenge of jet boating and white water rafting on the Shotover river, as well as the famous bungy jump at Skipper's canyon! A day I'll never forget!
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. It was a particularly stunning late afternoon in Queenstown so the photo was easy - right time right place :-)
@jamibann Wow that must have been an incredible day. You will find if you go back there that Queenstown has changed a lot. It is a busy and very touristy place now but still very beautiful.
@littleconnie Thanks Connie :-)
@yorkshirekiwi Thanks Carole - I have been lucky to have been down that way quite a bit this year.
