I decided I had better bake the cake that I promised Mick in the garage as a thank you for his impromptu car test drive on Monday. This is a plain Victoria sponge with butter icing to prevent the strawberry jam from oozing out and plain lace icing as dusting with with icing sugar gets everywhere!
