18th September 2019

We had an early start this morning as we were driving to New Romney and Dungeness. Colin had his annual golf game organised this time by Trevor who now lives in New Romney with his wife Penny.

We made good time and avoided the many traffic jams heading in the opposite direction. There were a number of worrying signs regarding paperwork and traffic on the first of November after ‘Brexit D-Day’!!

After bacon rolls the lads set off for golf and Penny and I drove to Dungeness for photos. I was going to spend an intensive day with a tripod and filters but in the event we pottered a bit and then headed to Smallhythe Place - a National Trust place in Tenterden solely so I could use our new membership (saved £8.80). Our first stop was the tea shop which was very good.

The guys returned home about 5ish after a BBQ. To avoid traffic we drove back for the sunset at Dungeness - I love the industrial feel of this shot. Then we headed back up the M20 and M25. A long journey but with little holdups and we were home by 9.15am to collapse in a crumpled heap.
