27th May 2020

Day 65 of lock down.

Good news is that Colin has an appointment with his dentist at 1.00pm so hopefully he will be sorted out then.

I caught up by phone with Mum and simultaneously got a call from Benenden hospital. I can’t believe it - they have rebooked my cancelled appointment for next Wednesday at the hospital. Colin can’t come in and I’ll have to wear PPE but I wonder if they can help sort out my right eye that is still blurred since the 31st of January!

As I was listening to my daily dose of Simon Calder and his excellent travel blog on Facebook, we had an email from Juls the physio who is back in business next week. I very quickly zapped off an email and I have another appointment in my diary for the first time in months for 3.00pm on Monday. Hoping she can sort out my numb arms which I think stem from trapped nerves in my neck.

I took a deep breath and sat down to have a second attempt of installing Mojave and after nearly half an hour of instal it finally worked - hooray. Now everything is nicely compatible at long last. I was installing the software at the same time as watching Boris Johnson’s appearance at the Commons Liaison Committee being grilled by MPs over the Dominic Cummings debacle - he should make him resign but it is clear he will not - what sort of hold or control does Dominic have over Boris?!

Gammon steaks for dinner and we were hoping for a view of the ISS along with the SpaceX Dragon shuttle. However, as todays photo shows it was just too cloudy to see the ISS and the SpaceX Dragon never launched as there was cloud in Florida as well which was a disappointment.

The very last thing I did in the day or technically the next day was to manage to place an order for a crate of beer. Nothing too unusual there apart from the fact that the beer is called ‘Barnards Castle’ and is being specially brewed to mark the fact that Dominic Cummings went for a 60 mile round trip to Barnards Castle allegedly to ‘check his eyesight’ on what just happened by coincidence to be the same day as his wife’s birthday. This could be very valuable although it may only be empty cans left!!
