I wrapped Hester presents (or at least the ones that I have) and some of Mum’s as well this morning. I also started on the great chair refurb by using my new gadget - very effective- for removing all the staples in the fabric and scraping off the old and deteriorated foam. I cut the new foam to size (plus a bit of excess as the YouTube video directed and spray mounted it on. It doesn’t look great but I think the rough edges of the foam will be hidden once I have stapled the fabric tightly to it… I hope!
This evening I ‘attended’ a lecture by the excellent Lara Maiklem who is a mudlark. It was only an hour but was quite fascinating and covered a lot of finds near the Globe Theatre.
