1 year, 60 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020
Sadly today we left Cornwall for the long journey back home. It has been so good to finally see Mum after 10 months since our last visit in July. However, Mum and Ian are planning to visit in August after they have visited all the rest of the family so not too long before we see them again - not 10 months anyway!
Mum had to head out just after 9.00am as she had a long awaited physio appointment and we left at about 10.00 as we planned to meet our friend Dave Cox at a half way point for lunch near his home in Combpyne. He had booked table at The Ship inn in Axmouth. Our timing was pretty good considering the distance that we had to travel. I had fish and chips and Colin had liver and mash.
We went back for a cup of tea and caught up with the news about Linda as sadly she is now in a home as she has advanced dementia. It seems strange visiting Linda and Dave’s house and not seeing her there. It is a very cruel disease as she no longer even recognises him anymore.
We finally left for the second part of out journey which Colin drove as I had driven in the morning. Needless to say the rain started and it was a damp journey home although there were no hold ups so we eventually walked in the front door at about 7.00pm.
I am very pleased that not only is the miniature orange tree still alive (thanks to Vicki), Sydney hamster is also still with us. He is very old now but seems happy enough although he is rather wobbly now. Sadly I think he will not be around for much longer.
