The morning started with me polishing the 6 cups I am holding for tomorrows presentation at the awards dinner. I am very glad Ive only won a couple of cup in my life times I am definitely not into cleaning silver! I had just finished when I had a call from Lorraine - our photo club president and friend. It’s never good when you ask someone if everything is OK and they say no. It turns out that Lorraine had a few cold symptoms and as she has recently been out to a restaurant she did a lateral flow lest not really expecting to learn anything but she tested positive and this was reconfirmed by a PCR test at St George’s. This is bad news as she now cannot come to tomorrows awards dinner. It also caused me to worry as I had visited her home on Tuesday to collect the cups. We spent an hour together but were sitting about 3 meters apart (her living room is very big). I took a lateral flow test as well with trepidation as I have no idea what to do if I test positive. Luckily I was negative but I will need to take another tomorrow and probably on Monday to be absolutely sure I’m clear.
I am so sorry for Lorraine but luckily she has asked Peter to stand in for her tomorrow so we have a back up plan. I am rather worried abut testing tomorrow and also hoping that the evening goes well.
Later in the morning a return to some normality as I picked yet another complete colander of blackberries and washed and froze them. Then I knuckled down and made the amendments and reworded the documents outlining procedures at the Club when we plan to return on the 2nd of September. I will send them to to Lorraine at the weekend to give her a chance to ‘regroup’!
In the afternoon I walked to Tescos to pick up some things that I son’t think Lidl will have tomorrow. I am planning a Lidl trip to restock before Colin’s return to sort out some meals and I’m going to do a gammon roast on Sunday with morello cherry pie for dessert - that’ll be one of the three I bought on Tuesday!
I treated myself to a Thai meal from M&S this evening with a couple of beers as I will not be able to drink tomorrow as driving.
