3rd August 2022

2 years and 128 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

What a day. An early start as we wanted to allow plenty of time at the airport for Colin’s check in and also in case there were any hold-ups on route. In the event the journey was easy and we parked on the top level of the car park as we have in the past.

It was very busy at the North Terminal but hardly surprising as it is August and the school holidays. It only took twenty minutes or so the check in the case and golf bag and I left Colin as he headed off through Security. I had barely got into the car after paying the ticket when he called and was through Security which was really good news and he had met up with Charley and James’s friend Ben who were already airside.

My day took a bit of a downhill turn. As I drove back. The motorway was fine but once I headed towards Esher things went downhill as not one, not two but three roads were closed and the SatNav could not recalculate! Eventually after over an hour and a half I arrived in Molesey to return Julia’s table decorations that I had borrowed for last Thursday. It should have taken me about forty minutes. Then it was onwards to Squires to deliver a large card order. I was pretty peckish by nw and as it was almost one o’clock I decided to try their cafe for a sandwich and cup of tea - it was really nice and a good atmosphere.

After my lunch stop, it was on to Richmond. I had to restock at Waterstones and then I delivered my first order (sale or return) to the Museum of Richmond. Ella wasn’t in but it gave me a chance to meet the Curator - Laura. I had been tracking Colin’s flight at the same time and was pleased to see he had arrived pretty much on time in Murcia despite a half an hour delay setting off from Gatwick.

Finally it was back home, park the car and take the bus into Kingston as I needed to take back a belt I had tried out last week for my outfit for the photo club do.

I’ll admit to being pretty shattered when I finally got home.
