A culinary day today as our friends Robert and Sue came over for dinner in the evening. As usual, it is easy to prep starters and desserts in advance of the evening as we are very limited for space in our galley kitchen. On the menu today - smoked mackerel pate with mini crostini, main course of lemon chicken (Colin’s job) accompanied with green beans and mini roast potatoes. Dessert as illustrated - my now infamous deconstructed Black Forest gateaux with lashings of kirsch!
The dinner went really well as demonstrated by three empty bottles in the waste paper basket! We get on really well and it s always a surprise when they come to order a taxi home and it’s past 12.30am. I didn’t go to bed until after 1.30am and our neighbour opposite is still worrying us as he seemed to be up at that time, opening and closing his door. I’ll check in with our friends across the road to se if they have an update on him.
