These purple berries, photographed in a friend's yard, are a startling purple in real life. I have tentatively identified this shrub as Beautyberry (Callicarpa sp).
This is a pretty one. I agree with Janet, I find purple hard to look right - wonderful firm full berries. And you have them separated from the background so well. Really like!
you have the name right! they make great wreathes at Christmas...kind of different from the usual ones you see that time of year. You did a fantastic job of capturing them!
