Anyone for Ice Cream? by fishers

Anyone for Ice Cream?

For anyone in York who would like an ice cream, there is plenty of choice, with numerous retail outlets, and ice cream vans touring around housing estates, but here we have a new addition to the range of choices - an ice cream boat!

Moored in the shade of trees close to the Millennium Bridge, with a number of seats on the river bank, this must be a welcome sight for those passing.

The superstructure is a road vehicle body which had been transferred to the boat. The road registration plate is still visible on the rear of the superstructure. It certainly seemed popular and was attracting business as I passed along the opposite bank of the river.

The only disappointment would be getting an ice cream rather smaller than the one on the bow of the boat!

the ice cream man is our nemesis as he often wakes up J when he is on shifts with his Popeye the Sailor man chime. Should send him away on one of these! Ha!
July 26th, 2013
@doodlerdeb

This too has chimes - not what you expect along the riverbank at all!

You've got me wondering: is this a real boat or a toy? beautiful shot! Love the colours!
July 26th, 2013
So neat! I've never seen an ice cream boat
July 27th, 2013
Yes, that one on the bow would be great! But I would still want some! Even if smaller...

@angelat

Thank you Angela - this is a full size boat, not a toy. Someone has been very creative in converting it for it's new use!
