Illuminating York - Locomotives in a Different Light

York's annual Illuminating York festival began a few days ago, with a range of lighting events around the city.

My favourite event for several years has been at the National Railway Museum, where there is a lighting competition with various teams illuminating some of the locomotives and visitors voting for their favourite.

Here, the cab and front of a Eurostar is surrounded by light on a Channel Tunnel lining segment.

Thank you all for your kind and interesting comments, I'm glad you enjoyed this glimpse of one of the many Illuminating York events.

Margaret, this event has been running for 9 years and is usually at the end of October and runs just into November, and is at the end of the school half term. Plans are already being discussed for the 2015 event!
