The Aquaduct by fishers

The Aquaduct

About 2 miles upstream from the Strid ( http://365project.org/fishers/365/2016-03-15 ) is this attractive stone bridge. It is an aquaduct on the route carrying water from Grimwith Reservoir to the city of Bradford.

A few years ago it was opened for walkers to cross, so it makes a useful link allowing a circular walk along both banks of the river.

It's clear to see here the difference in width of the River Wharfe here compared with the Strid.

Nicely composed shot of this aqueduct. It is always nice to see these structures in use today for the people. The construction amazes me.
