First of all an apology for the late post. Katharine and I have been on a train journey which went sadly wrong on our way back to York. Still, I'm here now, and this collage was of quite a surprising find.
Some days ago Katharine and I were walking on the riverside path between Ouse Bridge and Lendal Bridge in York. We could hear the sound of music and eventually spotted these musicians across the other side of the River Ouse. They were in an open area behind one of the shops on Coney Street. We couldn't work out why they were playing there, but later I realised that I had read about a new arts project opening in a disused shop on Coney Street, so I suspect this was something to do with that.
When I was very young, my dad had an accordion, but sadly for him, whenever he got it out to play it I would be in floods of tears because I didn't like the loud noise!
Great collage Ian. I love to come across live music. We came across some keyboard musicians playing duets at the European festival last weekend, and stopped to listen.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
They were quite good musicians - it was just such a surprise where the music was coming from! There is lots of music to be heard on the streets of York with a large number of buskers, but this was rather special being able to hear and see their private playing.
(Have some in they family.)
It was probably because as a child I liked to be centre of attention and dad was stealing that role from me!
Ian
Love your story about your poor dad not being able to play!

Thank you Bri - it was such an unexpected place to find them.
