It has been a remarkable week of extremes here in York, and through much of the UK.
York reached a maximum of 39C on Tuesday, after which the temperature dropped quite sharply, and has now got to a maximum of 17C today, which is below average for the time of year. Not only that, but the sky has been grey all day, with occasional light rain. Looking at the gardens, we need a lot more rain, and having seen photos in the media of various reservoirs, we need a substantial amount of rain to refill them.
So, briefly back to earlier in the week for this shot. This was sunset on Monday evening. If I am honest I definitely prefer the weather and temperature we have today!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I'm so releaved that the heat has finished, at least for now. The heat at the beginning of the week was beyond anything I had ever experienced, and which I would prefer not to experience again. Sorry for the late responses and post, we have been exploring on the Moorsbus again.
