Lamb's Ear leaves by fishers

Lamb's Ear leaves

Lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina) is a sun-loving perennial plant grown for its thick, fuzzy, silvery foliage that creates a soft-textured mat in the garden.

This lamb's ear is in the Museum Gardens in York, and it's attractive texture is in the process of being enhanced as frost starts to form on it's surface as the afternoon sun sets.

This is ours: Sea lavender ( Limonium vulgare ) (Lamsoor) is a plant in the beach herb family ( Plumbaginaceae ). The plant is found on salt marshes and in areas that are under the influence of tides and are occasionally flooded with seawater (the "silty edge"). For example, the vegetation of De Slufter on Texel consists for the most part of salt-loving vegetation, which mainly turns purple in early August because of the sea lavender. Sea lavender occurs in the Netherlands in the Delta area, on the Wadden Islands and along the Wadden coast on the salt marshes . In Belgium, sea lavender occurs on theZwinvlakte where it is popularly called Zwinnebloem ('zwinneblomme'). (Wikipedia.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are all very much appreciated.

For several days the day temperature has barely been above 0C and the night temperature several days colder. However, the weather forecast suggests a rise in temperature and an end to such cold nights. I hope they are right, it would be nice to feel a little warmer!
