This shot, and many others, were taken in All Saints Church, North Street, York, at their second flower festival, held at the end of last week.
There were several different church robes displayed with a flower display in the same colours as the robes. I was quite impressed with this green display.
The church has recently had significant restoration work done. It has the second best display of medieval stained glass in York, with the best display being in York Minster. A substantial amount of funding came from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and one of the conditions of such grants is to make the restored location more accessible to the public, hence the flower festival.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and fav, they are very much appreciated.
I should have added to my notes that the displays were created in conjunction with the students of Askham Bryan College, which specialises in agricultural and animal science courses, and which is based about 4 miles (6.25km) south-west of York city centre.
