Dad: A Daughter's First Love by gardenfolk

Dad: A Daughter's First Love

A dad is someone who

- is a daughter's first love.
-will be there for you no matter how bad of a mistake you've made.
-will stand up for you when you need him.
-will give you hugs and a shoulder to cry on.
-promises you that you will always be his little girl.
-loves you so much he will slay a dragon, swim the sea or move a mountain.
A father is the one man who will never give up on you.

Your darling daughter misses you on Father's Day and every day.

Best on black background.
A beautiful portrait :)

@pamknowler Thank you Pam. The photo is from his yearbook from Coleman Flying School in Texas. He was in training to be an Army Air Cadet. He looks like a movie star in this photo and did have strong striking features.

@seattlite Thank you Gloria. He was a tall strong man. He went on to become an LAPD police officer and later worked in the West Los Angeles court system. He was my protector and hero growing up. My son thought he had hands (grip) like hand cuffs and followed in his grandfathers footsteps by becoming a Sheriff. Law and order and serving the community is in their blood.

@yogiw Thank you Sandy. He looked so handsome and had a face for Hollywood back then. He was my hero which was better.

What a beautiful and touching tribute! Now I wish I had access to my photo of Dad in his uniform but it's hanging on a wall back in California... This makes me think I should photograph everything so I can carry it all with me one place to another... Fathers are very special to us and are most definitely missed...

@Weezilou Thank you Louise. Fathers hold a very special role in a daughter's life. I wish you had your daddy's photo with you. When you return, I have an adorable photo of me and my dad but it has some issues. I thought maybe with your photo processing wizardry, you might be able to improve it a bit. If so, maybe I can post it next year. :)
