It Can Move Anywhere by gardenfolk

It Can Move Anywhere

I'd rather fight 100 structure fires
than a wildfire.
With a structure fire you know
where your flames are
but in the woods,
it can move anywhere.
It can come up
right up behind you.
...Tom Watson

Sometimes wildfires can make for a beautiful sky, sun and moon due to the particulate matter in the air. Best on Black.

Major wildfires have been burning in California and the entire west coast for over a month...from the Oregon border to the border of Mexico.

August 2020 brought a lightning siege of 14,000 dangerous dry lightning strikes and 1100 wildfires. So far, the fires have burned 3.2 million acres this year. My heart breaks and every year it gets worse. Climate change is real.

From 2010-2017 California was parched in an epic of the most intense droughts in California history. Trees have been dying en masse for years and has affected over 163 million trees between the lack of water and the bark beetle.

Yosemite National Park has temporarily closed due to hazardous air quality from the wildfires...and National Forest lands have been closed to public access due to the wildfires. Unhealthy to hazardous air quality is everywhere.
Sad story of the wildfires and the loss of trees, homes, etc. It does make for stunning photos like this one.

Those wildfires are horrifying, wondering how nature will look once it calms down. The skies look amazing in this shot.

Dramatic shot. Sure hope they get a handle on the fires and that air quality improves soon.

it's a pretty scary story and your image is very fitting

I’m so sorry for your state, the fires have been so awful. My SIL from Montana has sent photos of the smoke there, it’s from California, because the Montana fires were out.

Australia, Siberia, California and those at the helm are partying and only looking at popularity polls.
Fabulous shot and edit.

You explained it well and it is making us so sad. This morning our air was a bit better but started getting smoky again this afternoon.

So sad to see my thoughts go out to all who are affected .
