He Knows What the Angels Eat

When one has tasted watermelon
he knows what the angels eat.
...Mark Twain

When my grandson came for the weekend, I bought a Black Seedless Watermelon at the market. I thought it would be fun to cut into it and see how different it looked. Well, to my surprise, it looked exactly like a regular watermelon! I think it gets its name from the darker green rind, but it's not black. I do not know about Dillon, but I was disappointed...except for the fact it was still delicious. I made us a watermelon slush by blending watermelon with ice cubes in the VitaMix. Yum!

That is my hubby’s favorite. He thinks it is most consistent in texture and flavor and doesn’t have seeds. Love the two photos together. I’ll have to share that quote with Hubby. He would agree.
