Zaanse Schans is a beautiful village on the banks of the River Zaan. It is a portal back in time to the 18th and 19th century. The village has iconic windmills, green wooden houses and workshops where you can watch the making of cheese and wooden clogs. I missed both. I got separated from my tour group and never found them again...until the end.
However, I still enjoyed my time here. The real charm of Holland lies in the countryside that is dotted with windmills, farmlands and picturesque architecture.
Love can still cope with quiet and calmness. But the windmill is more than life in some parts! I would get worried with separation with the tour group but then I might say, I'm free to look at what I want!
