Nevilles house. by happypat

Nevilles house.

We have ten houses down our little lane, all different. It is a cul-de- sac leading into what used to be our fields. We don't usually call the houses by their proper names so this is Nevilles house. He doesn't actually live here as he has moved to the end house & this one is up for sale. It has been on the market for a long time but I think it's because it is quite high maintenance with a thatched roof, lots of beams outside & rooms that lead one from the other which isn't popular especially upstairs !! It is so picturesque & the garden is lovely too. An easy photo today as I'm going to watch tennis ALL afternoon !!!
Enjoy the tennis. The picture is lovely! I am going to look at your area with fresh eyes next time we are down your way! This year heading up to Orkney but who knows what we can fit in later!

@sarah19 Did think it might be quite interesting to feature a different house everyday as they are all so different ! It would keep me at home more without spending fuel money as we always have to get in the car to go anywhere !!

The owners of this house might get a sale on their house, any one seeing this picture could quite easily fall in love with it

SOLD!! Lovely house! When I think of England, this is the kind of house that comes to mind.

This is the kind of house I'd love to explore - it looks very old. I, too, am poised and ready for a tennis marathon!

Looks absolutely gorgeous. Unusual for Lancashire would you say? I tend to think pretty stone cottages....hope it sells - somebody should be loving it. Even I've succumbed to the tennis - one down (not a Federer fan!) one to go (come on Andy!)

@judithg Yes so pleased Tsonga won ! Just having little look here before Andy ! We have quite a few thatched cottages round this area !

Having never been to England, when I do think of the little lanes and the houses, this is exactly what I think of. What a gorgeous photo. It's a pity the property won't sell - but you can understand it if the maintenance is so high. Lucky you watching the tennis in the daylight hours. There are a few weary Aussies down here from having sat up last night watching the djokovic vs tomic match. What an amazing game from our 18 year old Aussie hey! Have a great day.

Soo different to our houses here down under. The gardens look so green and well mantained, love that you put the lilies in the foreground.

The house itself is quite beautiful, but I woul dagree, the upkeep could be quite expensive. If the right person sees it, I think it should sell quickly.

@happypat that's an interesting idea.......a different house every day! I could try that in our village!

All so idyllic, even the lawn's done, and for sale too. As for the maintenance, I'm sure the right person would love it.

Beautiful shot. It looks a very interesting house and must be of some antiquity with the through rooms. I would love to live in a place like that. My sister did and said it was not great, the thatched cottage she was in was very damp and it could not be modernised cos it was listed. I am sure they vary greatly. There is loads of thatch in Cheshire so I imagine there will be plenty in Lancashire too.

Such a wonderful house! I would imagine that roof is rather high maintenance...but it certainly looks fabulous! I'm with you with the tennis watching...Good luck to Andy Murray in the semis tomorrow. Should be a great match.
