A girl & her dog. by happypat

A girl & her dog.

I asked this girl if I could take her photo as she sat here in the weind with her dog, she said yes then turned her face away !!
What a shame she turned away, I like the perspective and lightness of this shot.

What a great old pathway and lovely tones! I wonder why she agreed if she's just going to turn away?

Too bad re her turning away but I love this tunnel- the light, the textures. nice shot

It's an interesting shot! You want to walk along and see what's at the other side!

@sarah19 You walk to the end of this weind past a very expensive & highly technical dentists place on your left..turn right & Booths supermarket is on the left .

I like the shot ... even if her head is turned away!

Well done for asking her, I need to get braver!

I LOVE this pov, Pat. I must be the only one to say this, but I really like her face turned away. She's looking at the same spot that you're focusing on. Makes it much more interesting to me. So I say, "Bravo!" Gorgeous.

Great perspective, strange thing for her to do......she probably had second thoughts!

@karenann That is a good point Karen trust you to think of something positive like that !!

Great shot. I like the tunnel effect. Maybe she just felt embarrassed at the last moment :)

a nice weind shot Pat, have we seen the view through this weind before Pat :) great catch

This is so lovely with its lightness.

So what is a "weind"? It is intriguing...
April 14th, 2012
Nice shot! I like that she is looking in the direction that you are shooting. What is a weind?
April 15th, 2012
Also interesting is the fact that not only did she turn her face away, so did the pup

The dog is looking in the same direction. Maybe they were waiting for someone and they heard her/him coming which would explain why she turned around - an instinctive move. Anyway, I do like the shot. Very nice vintage tones.

Fab shot, Pat...I think that her and the dog's looking away from the camera adds a bit of intrigue to the shot. It's like they're waiting for someone or something to appear at the other end. The excellent color editing adds to the mood of this shot.

this is a interesting shot witht the building over the street

Very nice shot. The fact that her face is turned away, makes it a bit mysterious :-)

What a lovely composition. Good lighting too. I think that picture could be the front cover of a mystery book.

Urban grit in Garstang! Love your processing and you're really good asking even if she did turn away she still adds to the shot.
April 15th, 2012
I am in total agrrement with Karen, the fact they are both looking away adds an air of mystery...........how brave of you to ask!! I love it
April 15th, 2012
great shot Pat - love the B&W tones - superb framing of that house through the arch - I think it's good she wasn't looking - doesn't look posed
April 15th, 2012
It's still a natural grab of an ordinary event - and that always makes a good photo Pat. What is a weind?
April 15th, 2012
Love the texture and feel of this one. . .

@bpaquette @grannysue @murnane A weind is another name for a narrow passage linking two roads usually between buildings. There are about 5 weinds in Garstang Thank you for your interest !!!!!
