I took my camera down the fields & had a proper practice on different settings. Some were terrible, just a white blur, some out of focus but I was really pleased with these I took on the way home.
Practically SOOC just a crop & slight up of the exposure.
Three good things:
1. A hot day !!!!!
2. Had a lovely long talk to our eldest son in NZ this morning, we haven't talked properly for a while , they have been so busy during the calving season, All is well over there !!!!
3.. I feel like I am getting to grips with my camera a bit more & haven't wasted my money.
1 a fav photo Pat love this nature photo , and 2 glad you are getting use to your new Camera , 3 I hope to be getting my new Camera a week today a Nikon D5100, : - )
Well sharing is a very good thing!! Great job with you settings here - I'm very impressed indeed. Glad to hear all's well in NZ - Rachel seems to be very happy so far - work starts next week!
oh my! I am amazed! I don't think I have ever seen so many insects on one flower FAV!!! you definitely have a handle on the new camera, perfect focus and great color!!!
I do apologise for this mass thank you but I get completely confused as I look down the list who I have thanked & who I have missed out but I do thank you all for taking the time to look at my photos & then comment & fave.
I know myself how time consuming it is to keep up with the comments, one thing to take the photo & upload but to keep in touch every night takes lots of stamina & of course pleasure when not pushed for time! A BIG thank you to you all! x
Lovely Tortoiseshell Pat. Do you use Skype to talk to your son in NZ? It is great, i use it all the time and my mobile bill has come down by £300 a month!!
@seanoneill We do use Skype occasionally to talk to our younger son as they have two year old & we like to see him running around but generally speaking we find it hard work. They are in a pretty mountainous area ( no mobile network) & the picture freezes quite a lot & he is better just talking on the phone properly, also they mostly ring us as they say they it's cheap! That is a massive consideration Sean you must be well pleased with that!!
Awww man I'm so jealous of you right now lol wish I could've captured all these insects on one flower well maybe one day I will but while I wait I'll just have to admire yours! I've never seen so many bugs on one flower before they must've really liked that flower! anyways this is pure amazing your so lucky I just love this! :) +Fav
Oh my goodness...what a perfectly wonderful shot!! You've even captured the fuzz on the bee and butterfly. Fabulous!! An absolute fav! You are doing a great job with your new camera!!

Thank you all so much for the time taken to comment on this photo!! It happened to be a sunny & warm afternoon in the fields & the bees were buzzing around...I think they were all hungry after all our rain!!
this is a wonderful shot Pat...and wow - that thistle is loaded with life! Superbly captured and so glad you're enjoying getting to grips with your DSLR, it's such fun when shots come out just how you want! Love this!
