I have taken a similar shot like this before but the maize is much taller now.
We have about 120 acres of maize in the fields behind us & the only way to the river is to walk along the rows, quite unnerving as the maize is quite tall but luckily if you walk down the rows you can't get lost. We picked one of the wider rows here.
Two fillers today as I have a stiff neck so not moved far all day. Two B&B'ers in last night & I haven't even remade their bed yet.
I would like to thank everyone who commented & faved my Covered Market & Crowded photos you are all stars!!!!
Three good things:
1. We have lit the wood burning stove for the first time today.
2. Thank goodness for wheat bags warmed in the microwave & around my neck.
3. Downton Abbey tonight!
We have a Maize Maze nearby - no wonder you felt a bit lost! I'm not sure you're allowed Downton every Sunday - though it is great - and Great British Bake off first - I need some ironing!
I thought this was a bear at first, but then I don't suppose you'd have been standing there with your camera! I like your 3 good things too. We have a wood stove too but so far have resisted the temptation to light it. Oh yes, I forgot about Downton Abbey. Hope your neck is soon better.
Great catch. What is the maize used for, animal food? We have several types over here, some for animal feed and others for human consumption.. I love it.
Oh I so agree your 3 good things!! also have the wheat bag........oh so sad!!! poor you but they do help........am just thinking about logs for the wood burner! Marvellous shot, looks a scary walk!!
Great shot. I hope your neck is better soon. The second series of Downton has just ended here. Probably a long wait until the next :( Which series are you on now?
Don't tell! We won't get Downton Abbey here until January 6 in the States. Tui looks so "amaizingly" happy! Love the tongue. We had sweet corn with dinner tonight - been the best season ever!
oh wow!!! I had to look close to realize it was not a bear! I could not believe that you had paused long enough to get that clear of a shot of a bear running at you! so relieve it was a dog...very cute now that I realize what it really is!
@michelle58 Oh goodness no Michelle, if there was I wouldn't be anywhere near there!!!!!! Only a few pretty harmless snakes in the UK & I have never seen one thank goodness! There will be foxes in here some where though, we have a problem with foxes in this area killing chickens,
Love this shot of Tui in the maize! Such a fun photo! I hate that you are having problems with your neck, Pat! No wonder you haven't made beds! I hope the warm compresses helped and that you're feeling much better very soon!
