I saw the advert for this book in the Mail on Sunday & thought ''ah we are in good company''.
My youngest son in NZ loves to cook & we have bought all of Hugh Fearnly Whittingstalls books for him. taking them across to NZ in our suitcases as they are so thick & heavy.
Sorry I am way behind with my commenting today, I will try & catch up. A mixture of time off watching the amazing Ryder Cup last night...one of the most exciting sport events I have ever watched plus being busy with B&B.
My three good things:
1. To see the B&Bers from hell driving away this morning!!
2. Frank the electrician has been to mend my work surface lights in the kitchen.
3. Good friends who listen to me grumbling this morning!!
@meisen325 I could write a book Monica but in spite of among other things holing up for the whole of the day in their rooms yesterday with the heating on full blast they left without saying goodbye...the first ones ever to do that in 20 years!
Ah yes, I heard him talking about his new book on Woman's Hour. I made the blackberry granita after the programme. Is the book worth buying? I hope your B&B'ers from hell don't follow 365!
We had guests from hell too - chldren ran riot, threw food about, screamed and the two parents , both lawyers from Aussie, never said a thing! Interested in this book!
LOL to your 3 good things!! Makes you appreciate normal things that you take for granted. And good old Hugh!! I'm being a bad 365er - busy & tired and not really in the mood for long sessions.
Love the title of the cookbook, for sure. :)
So glad your guests from hell have left. Were they the ones with the sleepless 2 year old?
Rest well tonight!
@peggysirk Yes the very same Peggy. They wouldn't get up i the morning , I had to knock them up this morning at 9.30 & they trouped down in their dressing gowns & had the cheek to complain that there was a spider in the bedroom. I usually have a real rapport with my visitors & these I think were the worst in 20 years!! Never mind they won't be coming back that's for sure!!!
Oh no......poor you, I do feel for you ........I had mine 3 years ago and they left me in tears, not a good weekend for you at all...apart from the very uplifting golf!! How funny I got Nigel Slaters Kitchen Diaries yesterday, all I've done so far is stroke the cover!!!!!
@happypat Ugh ~ I have little patience with demanding, self indulgent people. Even worse when they are guests in your home. At least you had that remarkable Ryder Cup tourney to cheer you. :)
Gosh what ignorant people. Now I thinkyou are definitely a glass half full girl, and always find the good in a bad situation, so these guys must have been a nightmare!!
@snowy@seanoneill Thank you both so much I have only just seen your comments. I do tend to be very laid back about my visitors & have forgotten all about it now but boy was I mad at the time!!!!! I have been so lucky in 20 years B&B, never had anything stolen despite many a time leaving them on their own in the house but generally the type of people that want to stay here are the salt of the earth. I have met some amazing people & could go & stay all over the world in folks houses!!!

Yes the Ryder Cup was brilliant. What a year we have had in sport.
