I took a walk down by the river whilst I was in Garstang looking for that ever illusive masterpiece.
I saw this couple of ladies, mother & daughter I think. They had a dog & a pram but I would have liked to have taken a nearer shot but flunked it as they got closer!
Three good things:
1. Donker bread toast & apricot jam for breakfast.
2. Boot wearing weather at last.....give me boots before sandals any day!!.
3. Great British Bake Off on TV tonight!
What a nice little path for a walk. And I am wearing boots today, too! I like sandals but, like you, if I had to choose, I'd go with boots. Nice sandals are too hard to find and my feet feel very comfy in boots.
Beautiful shot, Pat. I love the path and the hedgerow. Such a lovely place to walk. I'm looking forward to boot wearing weather around here...still too warm to bring out the winter wear. :(
this is an excellent shot Pat, the positioning of the people is good. I know what you mean about them being closer , possibly just at the start of the shadows, but then they might be a bit too big in the frame.
This is a super location and I think you ca get some great images from it. I'd love to see this scene in a couple of weeks when the trees have gone a bit more golden and it will be an iconic location when we get our first dusting of snow .
Super shot Pat....pheww, I had a lot to say then .....my first comment of the night :)
@phil_howcroft Oh my I must have got you at your best then!!!! Thank you for all that great feedback Phil & will definitely take some more photos in this spot a bit later on. Easy to access as it's just behind the main street in Garstang where I do my shopping. I did like the shapes & darkness of those large branches.
this is a fabulous image Pat - can't out my finger on it, but the instant fav button was immediately pressed! love the subtle red coats in the distance, but mostly it's the mood and maybe the wide crop that I like (just reading to see if @phil_howcroft has mentioned letterbox crops...!) a wonderful image
@meisen325@peggysirk I love my boots & have a lot of different sorts in fact I took some to the charity shop today as they were a little out of date with pointy toes & a highish heel...am into more flat lace up types now!!
Love this beautiful scene with the path! I have taken another's advice on meeting people like this - raise your camera at them and give a questioning smile! They generally nod (it might be after you have taken it but they don't know that)!
@sparkle Oh thank you so much Juliette praise indeed coming from you! I always like this cinematic style so chanced it on this shot. I cropped it to try & bring the figures nearer but didn't make much difference.
@maggiemae Good advice but I'm a real wimp when it comes to taking people. I kept walking on here & on passing them I just said good afternoon as you do but they never said anything about me taking their picture as I went by. Will try & be brave next time!!
A lovely composition the glimpse of the people in red is just enough to draw the eye into the picture. As for boots I think I will be wearing slippers which I hate for a while , never mind this time next week it will be over (my knee opp that is)
