A wet day in Blackpool. by happypat

A wet day in Blackpool.

The last day of the illuminations is the end of Blackpool's holiday season for 2012. I really wanted to get a photo of the illuminations with my camera but not felt up to it this week.

I have had a very busy day having a good clean up after my lazy week doing nothing. Much more energetic today & I have cleaned all the stuff on the kitchen dresser amongst other things.

I went to the doctor this morning , nearly better of course by the time you get an appointment & it was as we thought a virus causing Pleurisy symptoms. Just keep taking the painkillers & resting.
I needed to ask as I was slightly worried about flying long haul in 3 weeks but all Ok.

Three good things:
1. Made some biscuits.
2. Took some unwanted stuff to the church for prizes for the Christmas raffle.
3. MaCains Gorgeous Chips, the nearest oven chip to a proper chip pan chip you can get!!!!

Now that is a tongue tier!!!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
It is a wet day all over 365!

Put your feet up and take care of your self. Three weeks passes quickly. Blackpool looks very wet and sad.

Cool lines. Take good care

Oh pleurisy is horrible stuff. No wonder you were feeling so rotten. Blackpool looks rather under the weather, too.

Yes, your symptoms were like pleurisy! Glad it wasn't but just copied the symptoms! There is a lovely wide pavement here good for the crowds, I expect! McCains Chips, eh?

I like a bit of bleak Blackpool! Glad you're feeling better. I got an intercostal muscle virus when I was expecting Adam - needless to say I thought I had a pulmonary embolism! Didn't last as long as yours though. Will try those chips!

I've heard so much about the Blackpool illuminations ... maybe next year you'll get a shot :) Three weeks to go - you must be getting very excited!

I bet it does look pretty all lit up, but better for you to rest up and get over your sickness!

Get better soon!

The neon lights add a pop of cheer to a rather dreary looking day. So glad you are starting to feel a bit better, Pat. Just don't overdo too quickly...you don't want any setbacks to mess up your Christmas trip!!! And it sounds to me like you put in a full day of activity when you could/should have been curled up with your Kindle.

Now I am a fan of Blackpool, but Rebecca isn't so in any vote, the result is a draw and she gets to decide. Hence it is more than 10 years since my last trip!! I'm pleased to hear that the docs have sorted your diagnosis, and do hope that you are well again soon. Well done for keeping up your cheerful demeanour though Pat, you are an example to us all :))

@seanoneill Blackpool is not my favourite place I must admit but have got to like the place better over the last few years. One of the things we were pleased about when we moved 7 miles from Blackpool was that we still had a Preston post code...how snobby was that!!! I am ashamed of that now! Fabulous countryside within ten miles though Sean!

Ps. thanks for your kind comments too!

@happypat No worries.

oh dear Pat , Blackpool doesn't get any better .....no matter how you look at it... it always seems to have a tacky side..i like your light and neon colours, but 'coral island' and 'captain jacks grill' don't look the most inviting of places !
