Harry helping me with the washing this morning after a full house B&B.
Note the wellies even though he has retired from farming...old habits die hard!!!
I was so surprised when I saw all the comments on my passage photo yesterday, a picture I had dismissed as pretty rubbish but amazingly you seemed to quite like it!! Thank you all so much for commenting even though I neglected all yours. I will catch up later.
A good evening last night, managed a couple of quick steps in between the chat....a pretty ancient collections of musicians but they played well particularly the saxaphone player....I do like a good saxaphone!
A great meal of roast beef etc, trifle, cheese & biscuits plus we won a bottle of wine in the raffle!
Three good things:
1.Washing all dried in the sun.
2.Sunday papers by the fire.
3.Good comments in the visitor book.
The just get up and add wellies out of habit I think! Good to know the BB is busy, that they left nice comments and that the sheets dried in the sun! Sounds idyllic....just not sure about the -1'C that was mentioned for our gang this morning!
Well done Harry - I believe in sharing stuff like this......Allan is very good at it too!
Sounds like a good evening .........I love saxaphone too - miss hearing Susie playing hers since she went to Edinburgh.
And very good 3 things!
@barrowlane LOL Rob, I can see I am going to have trouble with you !!!! You are quite right of course though Harry still does a bit of proper farming helping our neighbours, he is going rolling tomorrow but he also does his bit when I am really busy if nothing better to do & always does the hoovering. I think he keeps his wellies on to disguise the fact he is doing women's work!!!
i'm glad to see harry has a little helper to monitor his 'hanging washing' ......i'm an experienced hanging washing person ....... the Howcroft's washing line has to be in a certain order ...colour coordinated ....in size ......years of experience Pat !!!!
@phil_howcroft Funny you should say that Phil, our washing has to be colour co-ordinated too, anything that clashes is not tolerated...pathetic isn't it? Harry isn't bothered but I do like my line to look photogenic!!! I like the phrase..'hanging washing person'' it has a certain ring !!!
Another pair of hands is always a good thing. I must tell you that every time I see wash hanging I think of you. Some time ago you posted a photo of your wash with a gorgeous blue sky in the background and the breeze blowing the wash. And you have an interesting name for what we call the clothes line but I can't remember it at the moment. Is it whirly wash, or something like that?
Sounds like a good evening .........I love saxaphone too - miss hearing Susie playing hers since she went to Edinburgh.
And very good 3 things!
