Living it up today...went with a friend to the Midland Hotel Morecambe for afternoon tea.
I used my bus pass for the first time ever..it's years since I have been on a bus & my word what a slow process!!!! Very enjoyable going all round the houses but how does anyone find the time?
A brisk walk first & then a sherry, beautifully cut up sandwiches with no crusts, cakes & scones with cream & jam. We ate the lot & just brought the last two scones home for the husbands.
A brandy to finish then we tottered to the bus stop but stood at the wrong one so missed the first bus ...it took us two hours to get home from Morecambe!
By the way The Midland is an art deco hotel & quite stylish.
I took 97 photos in all so you will be seeing more!!!
Three good things:
1. Flowers this morning from NZ for Mothers Day.
2.A great afternoon with lots of laughs & good food.
3. Eventually got this computer to work...have been ages uploading so might be late commenting tonight!
Lovely selection of goodies for us to see! I love sandwiches cut like this - had egg ones at the picnic i posted. Nice relaxed pic of you, Pat! Have you got a new computer?
fantastic montage Pat, happy days. Is that a glass of wine too to compliment the sherry and brandy ??........i'm not surprised u missed that bus !!! I've seen the hotel on TV, it does look fabulous, i look forward to your pics of it :)

Sorry for the multiple reply folks but time is pushing on & I'm still commenting!!!
Afternoon tea was £15.80 each so not cheap, plus the drink which was a necessity to keep out the cold while at the bus stop...all in all a great afternoon!!!! The hotel is quite a statement...music in period & views of Morcambe Bay.
Just thought I'd have a peek - husband gone out so I have the computer to myself. It's amazing how much I'm missing it - it's like losing a friend. I did feel it was taking over my life though! I'm just commenting on a couple each day. Looks like you had a fab day out. We have occasionally used the X5 to Cambridge and as long as it's not late - and it usually is - then it's quite a quick service.
Sounds and looks lovely! Yummy fruit tart.... I love a bit of art deco too. You want to talk to Adam about buses - he's an expert at getting on and off to get a faster route and has an 'app' that tells him when the bus is coming. And as well as being slow there are all sorts of mad people on them!
@judithg I was talking to Lydia today about the bus & she told me' all the old people sit at the top in the front seats', exactly where Eileen & I sat!!!!
I wanted to get a @phil-howcroft top of the bus shot! We went all round the houses ..even into Asda car park!!
What a delightful collage. When I get my bus pass I am going to go everywhere!!! Can't wait to see some art deco shots. A Fave, because I just love the collage, you have doen it beautifully Pat.
Looks like you had a great day - and you look marvelous.
