Walk the snowy plank. by happypat

Walk the snowy plank.

Lake Windermere in the Lake District.

A lull in the B&B today so have just done a little washing, a little restocking in the food department & read my book.

Three good things:
1. Lovely weather still.
2.Harry has mown a bit of grass...not too short, just tidied it up.
3. The cat is going out more ....with encouragement I might add!!!

very beautiful composition Pat

Glad to know the weather is being a bit kinder! The snow on this pier makes the whole scene rather wintry! 25 deg here in Auckland

Three weeks to go before Liz and I venture back home. I hope this view will have brightened up by then.

It will melt soon.
April 4th, 2013
It still looks cold
April 4th, 2013
I like how your focus is the far horizon, with the dock and boat as secondary interest. Well done.
April 4th, 2013
such a contrast of the season...snow and sailboats
April 4th, 2013
Boy, there is still snow! Nice composition

There's something very peaceful about this shot, Pat. I do like the composition and even though it is an overcast sky, it doesn't feel a low key scene at all. There's something uplifting about it, although I can't quite pinpoint why I feel that way about it. Perhaps, it's because it shows the snow finally going and life returning to normal.

A beautiful wintry (spring? ) scene
April 4th, 2013
nice POV Pat and good leading lines with the jetty...I think I I might have nipped the other side of that bollard in the bottom right hand corner as it is blocking the lead in line a little ...what do you think ?
April 4th, 2013
Gorgeous composition...love the snow and ice on the dock adding a touch of cold early Spring atmosphere. Sounds like you had a lovely, relaxing day.
April 5th, 2013
@phil_howcroft Hi Phil, yes I see what you mean, it is a bit dominant now I look again but if I had nipped it in much it would have taken away the lake at the of the jetty don't you think?
April 5th, 2013
@happypat hi pat maybe u could have gone a couple of steps to the left or just cropped it out....anyway it's still a lovely shot :)
April 6th, 2013
Love this composition, Pat, and the contrast of the ice/snow against the water.
April 9th, 2013
