Just down the road where that car is parked is the home of Thompsons Auction Salerooms in Kirkby Lonsdale.
Today was furniture day & outside the Post Office some one had left a table!
Lovely day with quite hot sun, the market was on & Anne & I had soup & a roll in the cafe with the fire... a fire is always welcome what ever the weather I think!!
Three good things:
1. We saw the first swallow this morning sitting on the electric wire.
2. I managed to buy a very suitable tilt top table & what was described as an eastern rug , all soft pinks but slightly smaller than I had hoped when in place but only £20 so a bargain.A three cornered oak chair, a spur of the moment buy for £22 which has a crack in the top rail & a strut missing so not such a good buy but will be OK with a new soft hued tartan seat cover.!
3. The final night of Masterchef at 9pm...Natalie to win!!!!
He,he, & its parked on double yellow lines !! I wonder if it will get a parking ticket !!! Such a shame perhaps someone changed their mind on their purchase or had travelled on the bus !!
You obviously had room for more furniture - when we downsized, our home is too small for any furniture additions. No more second hand shops for me now and I miss that! I had to sell a gate legged table just like this one at an antique furniture shop. I like the idea of a tartan cushion. Nice to see this street here!
Fabulous shot with so much character! The lighting is so wonderful...and that abandoned table is intriguing. Sounds like you had a very successful day at the auction, Pat!
@judithg Well if you look at it like that ..yes was a big bargain Judith & yes was happy!!! My F & B paint was I think £38 or £28, can't just remember, per tin for the kitchen... outrageous & I haven't used a quarter!!
