Is it ready yet?

Harry & our nephew Graham checking the hay.

This hay will probably be sold to Newmarket Race Course as it was last year...they like good hay for the horses.

Three good things:
1. Fish & chip supper.
2. Still glorious weather.
3. Sweet Williams in a vase.
Lovely scene Pat --I can almost smell the sweet hay !! * nostalgia sets in again * !! Love your pov & how your eyes are drawn along those rows of hay . This scene would make a perfect candidate for today's word challenge *sepia * --don't you think !!

July 11th, 2013
Great lines and nice to see two guys hard at work!

Make hay whilst the sun shines , nice shot Pat

Posh hay if it is off to Newmarket. Our neighbour cuts his own haylage for Newmarket. Just love the smell, like apricots. Looks like great hay, no thistles or twigs!

Nice shot, good weather for hay, good you can sell your hay to Newmarket
July 11th, 2013
This hay will go into the running of the racehorses! High cuisine for them! Is this on your own property or is it your nephews? Weather to cut it must have been great!
July 11th, 2013
@maggiemae Not ours maggiemae, our nephews, we don't make any now.
July 11th, 2013
Which smells better - the hay in the sunshine or the Sweet Williams in the vase?
July 12th, 2013
When you say ready, do you mean dry? Nice shot
July 12th, 2013
Looks like nice hay. So good that they still have the ability to check out the hay by feel - that is a dying art. Many farmers I know use digital hay testers.
We will be baling on Saturday, God willing. It is very mature hay, but the weather hasn't cooperated to let us take it off any earlier.
July 12th, 2013
Wow looks so neat Pat - so are they checking to see if it's ready for baling? Will they bale it or roll it? I like that you list 3 things you are grateful for. What a great idea.
July 12th, 2013
@bpaquette No contest Barbara , the hay!!
July 12th, 2013
@digitalrn Ready for baling Rick & yes that means dry but not too dry with all the goodness out of it.
July 12th, 2013
@murnane They were making into mini hestons Marge, those are very large oblong bales , easier to transport.
Sometimes a challenge finding TGT but makes you appreciate your life!
July 12th, 2013
Well I love that you bother to find 3 things each day - you've inspired me to do the same thing xo
July 12th, 2013
Great shot. I hope the horses enjoy it.
July 12th, 2013

Yes, for 'retired' types you do both seem to work a lot! A nice scene and I like your 3GT. Here's to summer!
July 13th, 2013
You have your own hay field? Wow.
July 13th, 2013
